The family farm Bračko with its vineyards, cellar and house is located 20 kilometres Northeast of Maribor in the town Jakobski Dol which is the viticultural centre of the hills Slovenske gorice.
This is evident from a record, written in the Lexicon of Drava Banat (Dravska banovina) dating from 1937, where following is written about Jakobski Dol: "Everywhere and to greater extend, people grow vine that brings good wines" (Povsod se goji v večjem obsegu vinska trta, ki donaša dobra vina).
The beginnings of vinery at the farm Bračko reach back to the end of the 19th century and today, the vineyards have already been worked by the fourth generation.
On 6 hectares of vineyards, which have been worked according to the principles of integrated or nature-friendlier production, we mostly grow white varieties of grapes: Sauvignon, Welshriesling, Rhine Riesling, Yellow Muscat, Traminer, Grey Pinot and Chardonnay. 10% of our grape varieties is represented by the red variety Zweigelt.
The vineyards are planted on very steep viticultural slopes, located 320 to 360 meters above sea level. Favourable soil structure — from pure marl to marl mixed with clay, clay mixed with sand and sandstone — very specific micro-climate and careful work of the wine-grower and viticulturist are the factors which give our wine a special character.
Welcome at our house!
